A flickering MacBook display is one of the most alarming issues to experience. It can also look like a loss of resolution or dimming of the screen. 

First, check for physical damage as you might need a screen replacement. If the screen appears fine, start MacBook repair.

First, you can try a simple reboot of your device if the screen is still responsive. Shut your MacBook down then restart it.

You can also try switching off Automatic Graphics Switching under the Apple Logo. Go to System Preferences>Energy Saver, then uncheck Automatic Graphics Switching. You can also reset the PRAM and SMC on your device, and check for macOS updates.

You can enter your device in safe mode to identify any specific application issues. Also, disable or remove external browsers such as Firefox, as there have been reports that they can cause flickering screens.
